As a Texas native, with friends, family and colleagues in Houston and other affected areas, Hurricane Harvey’s destruction has weighed heavy on each person; whether due to loss or helping with others deal with loss. Most people prepared for this intense storm, but not the devastating floods within our communities.
How wonderful it has been to see neighbors helping neighbors, strangers helping strangers. To see a community, the city, the state and the country come together in a time of need reminds me as quoted in Luke 3:10;
10“What should we do then?” the crowd asked.
11 John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with
the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.”
And, Harvey has given true testament to this.
May God bless each and everyone, not only here in Texas, but in other states and countries affected by the storms and earthquakes.
